The Weighwell PTW2 is a portable individual wheel weight, static, rail weighing system. Similar to the PTW1, this PTW system can be carried by two men to a rail vehicle located anywhere and installed within 15mins. Once installed the user receives weights for individual wheel, axles and carriages as to allow even weight distribution. It is an ideal solution to provide individual wheel weights for the following.
- locomotives and passenger cars where an imbalance of weight could cause increased wear to the vehicle and possible safety issues i.e. spring adjustment.
- freight wagons for symmetrical loading.
- Road/rail vehicles and rail cranes - to measure off centre loading
The PTW2 operates in a similar way to the PTW1 portable train weigher, but requires the vehicles to be weighed axle by axle statically. This static train weighing provides excellent accuracy but at the same time gives unrivalled flexibility. Conventional systems require weighing at a specific location, due to the portability and ease of installation the PTW2 can weigh on multiple lines or positions.
